The Holy Archangels Monastery Collection

A new collection of the Holy Archangels Monastery near Prizren is now available on our website. Even though there are only remains of the main church, fortification walls, and other buildings of the once lavishly decorated monastic complex, the historical importance of this imperial foundation that served as the mausoleum of Emperor Stefan Dušan prompted us to document the remnants that are still on site. The monastery of the Holy Archangels has been our base during our expeditions in and around Prizren, and we are grateful to its abbot, Father Mihailo, the brethren and staff working at the monastery for always being helpful and making us feel welcome during our stay.
