BLAGO Fund and Wikimedia Cooperation

This month, the BLAGO Fund and Wikimedia Serbia representatives have signed an agreement allowing for a significant number of photographs created by the BLAGO team to become available on the Wikimedia Commons. Photographs of some of the most famous Serbian monasteries and churches from our collections will be used as illustrative material for Wikipedia articles, accessed by thousands of people from across the world. They will also be freely available to all who wish to use them under a CC BY 4.0 license.

We are delighted to have started our collaboration with Wikimedia since our organizations share mutual goals of widely accessible and free-to-use images. From the inception of the BLAGO Fund, our goal has been to increase the knowledge and awareness of Serbian medieval heritage. We hope that our cooperation with Wikimedia will enable an even greater number of people to become acquainted with some of its most beautiful monuments.
