Archiving the Sacred: BLAGO Fund’s 2025 Journey Through Macedonia

The BLAGO Fund continues its mission of preserving and digitizing the heritage of Orthodox nations. This summer, with the blessing of the hierarch of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, Archbishop Stefan and Metropolitan Grigori, our team headed to the heart of Macedonia, to the region where the histories of many nations and empires converge. This year, organizing the work was a bigger challenge because we had to work without the standard scaffolding that we usually take to the field. The success of the trip was made possible by drone technology, high ladders, and our always-at-hand 6-meter-long photo stick.
